Toronto Youth Shorts is Ontario’s largest youth-based film festival that offers young filmmakers from the region a chance to showcase their work to a captive audience, learn from one another, and engage experienced working professionals. This showcase provides fans of independent cinema the chance to enjoy work by up-and-coming talent while offering an educational forum for participants to strengthen their skills via feedback from experienced industry veterans.

12th FESTIVAL SEASON POSTPONED
In light of uncertainties behind covid-19, the 12th season of Toronto Youth Shorts will be postponed to early 2021. Submissions for the festival is still on-going and we welcome films to be considered for a live presentation during a time when it’s safe for everyone.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The festival exempt fees for youth enrolled in elementary and high school during the 2019/2020 academic year. If you work with youth in non-profit and community-based media arts programs, contact us about considering your work. Visit Submissions page for details.
